  • Billing address, payment method, and transaction history (processed securely through third-party payment processors like Stripe or Paddle). Tabs does not store your full credit card number.

Content You Create or Upload

  • Documents, drafts, notes, and research that you create, import, or store in Tabs.
  • AI-generated outputs that you save or export.
  • Comments, feedback, and edits when collaborating with others.

Communications with Us

  • Messages you send to customer support (email, chat, or feedback forms).
  • Participation in surveys, beta programs, or research studies.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use Tabs, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information to help us deliver and secure the service. This may include:

4.1 AI Model Training

We maintain a strict policy regarding the use of your documents:

  • No Direct Training: Tabs Editor does not use your content or documents (text, images, or metadata) to train our core AI models or third-party AI models unless we have obtained your specific, verifiable consent.
  • Exception: We may use anonymized, aggregated, or synthetic data derived from general usage to train or fine-tune our models to improve general performance and safety.

4.2 Internal Monitoring and Safety

For safety and quality assurance, our team may review a small sample of AI inputs (prompts) and outputs to:

  • Detect and prevent policy violations (e.g., prohibited content).
  • Evaluate and measure model performance.
  • Identify and fix bugs or biases in the AI system.

Any review is conducted by authorized personnel subject to strict confidentiality obligations.

6. Data Security and Retention

However, no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

8. Special Note on Children's Data

Tabs Editor is a general audience service and is not directed at children under the age of 13.

  • If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
  • Users between 13 and 18 must have parental/guardian permission to use the Service, as detailed in our Terms of Service.

9. International Data Transfers

Tabs Editor is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and stored in the U.S. and other jurisdictions where our subprocessors operate.

For transfers of personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on established legal mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to ensure an adequate level of protection.

10. Additional Information for Minors

10.1 Account Management for Minors (13-18)

Minors who have registered an account may request and obtain removal of content they posted on Tabs Editor.

10.2 Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party sites (e.g., Google Drive or OneDrive).

10.3 Content Restrictions for Minors

  • Tabs Editor is not designed for child-directed content.
  • We do not knowingly collect, store, or process information from children without proper consent.
  • The Service must not be used by minors for uploading, generating, or sharing content that is inappropriate, harmful, or unlawful.

10.4 Enforcement & Violations

If we discover that a child under the applicable minimum age is using Tabs Editor without verified parental/guardian consent:

  • We may suspend or terminate the account immediately.
  • We may delete associated personal data and documents in compliance with applicable law.

10.5 Special Notes for Educational Institutions

Where Tabs Editor is adopted by schools or universities, the institution is responsible for:

  • Confirming that all student users meet minimum age requirements under local law.
  • Obtaining and managing necessary parental or guardian consents for underage users.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable education privacy laws (e.g., FERPA in the U.S., GDPR in the EU).
